Validation / Verification Issue with Acrobat 2017 Software

I've purchased (from Newegg I think) the Acrobat 2017 software on a physical CD format, a several years ago.  I installed the CD software on my PC with Windows 7 OS.  Everything was installed correctly; however, when I reached the verification/validation part of the process, my serial number was not recognized by Adobe -- even though it came right from the original CD sleave packaging.  I have never installed this program on any other devices.  What can I do?  I tried the "Chat" approach but that was pointless.  Any advice???

If the serial number is invalid you were sold an illegitimate application, most likely, even if it was in the original packaging, which can also be faked. You should contact the seller and demand a refund.

Also, be aware that progressively, adobe is turning off the servers that verify the serial number of older versions of their software to nudge users towards their subscription model.

Eventually, your 2017 'serial number' version will not be accepted.
