Question

verifying Adobe Acrobat--

I am not sure how often this happens--maybe once a month? but when I open my Acrobat Pro on my iMac I get a pop up progress bar window "Verifying Adobe Acrobat"  This takes at least 10 minutes to process before I can use the program. Extremely annoying--Why is this happening?  I like Acrobat but am not a power user and not using it for commercial use.   Is this some sort of security thing that assures that I am the lega; user?  I can't stress how annoying this is.  Am I overlooking something withing the preferences to bypass this  Similar frustration with the updating of the program.  With no warning the progress bar pops up at night when I am about to shut down the computer.   The message says, if you shut down while update in process, it could damage the computer.  I have tried to check for updates manually but lead to a page that cannot be found.  Acrobat is a good program but Adobe needs to come out with a version that is targeted for non-commercial users and not so finiky or pricy--looking for a substitute.  Thanks

...and gums up my entire system. 9 times out of 10 right before a critical meeting.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.01.20643 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

As described, when you open my Acrobat Pro on iMac you get a pop up progress bar window "Verifying Adobe Acrobat", Please check the similar discussion on Apple support page: https://adobe.ly/4axhcF2 and see if that works.
