want background text on form to dissappear when text box is filled in

Question

Hello,I am making a calendar and want to be able to put text ontop of the date, and then for that date to dissappear if there is text over it.  If I change the form field to hidden, it doesn't allow me to type on the form.  If I change the fill color to white, the dates on the calendar don't show up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Using overlapping fields like this is going to be very tricky. You should think of another way of doing it. For example, place the original text as a "placeholder" and then remove it when the user clicks into the field.
