Watermark Display for Downloaded Documents

Hello Guys,

I work for the aviation industry and we have our manuals distributed on a software/website.
I need an "Uncontrolled" Watermark displayed on the user's screen when (after) the file is downloaded from the website. Do you know if this is possible to be done?

Currently, I can't have an "Uncontrolled" watermark set to be displayed on the screen because the watermark will show when the user opens the document on the website, where it is controlled, and should not have the uncontrolled watermark displayed. However, if the document is downloaded it becomes uncontrolled but the watermark will not be displayed.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much for your support and time.

Best Regards,

Daniela

I don't think this is possible. There's no difference between a file that's viewed "online" or downloaded to one's computer. In order to view a PDF file in a browser it has to be downloaded first, so there's no real difference between viewing the file on your website or saving it and then viewing it locally. If you want to make sure a file's contents have not been tempered with you must digitally sign it. That's the only safe way of doing it.
