What is happening with my original PDF when I watermark it and the selection boxes are removed(or overwritten)?

@Mickey5FB9 sorry, maybe I am reading this incorrectly... When you add a watermark to a PDF in Acrobat and then remove the selection boxes, you're essentially modifying the original PDF document. So, if you remove it, then it won't be shown or print.

Watermarking doesn't delete document data. The watermark is simply an overlay on top of the existing content. When you are creating the PDF, make sure the layer that contains the watermark is set to print
