Weird background color when scanning to pdf

Hi. I have messed something up. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI with regular updates. When I create a pdf from scanner in any format other than black and white, I get this grayish blue haze behind the content. I am sure it is not my scanner itself, because scanning directly to Photoshop works just fine. Besides, I also get it when I try to convert some (not all) Word documents to pdfs. So, I have clearly screwed up something in my Acrobat settings, but I don't know what. The weird color shows up both in a digital pdf and when I try to print the pdf. 

Suggestions? Thanks for your help.

I have a very similiar issue, all scanned documents have a bluish background tint. INstead of being black and white they are blue and white. Scanner works perfectly in all other programs.

    Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

     

    Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

     

    Also go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Accessibility > Set Page background to 'White' and Document text to 'Black' > click OK and reboot the application and check.
