Question

What a design failor!

I just reinstalled my Acrobat because it wasn't working properly anymore. And the new version has a completely different user interface. What a design mistake! Why on earth do Adobe's designers always make things so complicated for users? The user interface that has been familiar for decades has now done a complete 180! Nothing can be found anymore, and worst of all, there seems to be no way to reinstall the horizontal toolbar.

Is there any way to restore the original design? This new design is a terrible mess. There is no way to organise the tools in a meaningful way, and the user interface is completely different. If you feel you need to change the user interface, why not change it to match existing systems? Like ID? Does your company offer a prize for designers who manage to irritate customers in the most efficient way possible?

AnandSri, Acrobat is the only software in the world that has a floating toolbar that remains permanently on top of the document you are working on.
Please correct this serious user-friendliness mistake by returning it to where it was before, i.e., in the bar that is unoccupied and left empty just above the document.
Thank you.

Hello @Haggi Hug

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

The new Acrobat and the UI have improved features and tool options to align desktop and web workflows more closely, improve accessibility and consistency across platforms, and prepare the UI for newer features and services. However, if you wish to enable the Classic UI, you can do it from the Menu > Disable New Acrobat. It will restart the app and will enable the Classic UI.

We would recommend using the new interface and sharing your observations and feedback with the product team using the Wish form so that we can do the enhancement and improve the overall experience.

You can add and customize the toolbar in the new UI under the floating toolbar available on the left pane. See this article to learn more: https://adobe.ly/4b6AsfP

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
