What does Adobe Acrobat do with the content it translates with AI? Does it keep or save it somewhere? Does it use to train its AI? Does it ANY use with it? Ideally, it should not even get out of my computer or be saved. I learned I can disable Cloud Storage sync so it does not save. I tried to ask the representative and after I asked a little more it disconnected itself and sent me to the Financial Department which I did not ask to go. I urge ADOBE to be very clear and honest with what it does truly with the data translated in Acrobat.

    Thanks, Dave!

It says Adobe won’t use content to train their LLMs. Just in case, I opted-out of everything I could.

But when I hit “translate” in Acrobat, immediately it starts to upload it to the Cloud, which is not ideal. I suppose the translation will have to be done there… I am talking about a book here (my book), so it is intellectual property related content. The AI will do only the initial translation because I have to reread everything, anyway, to adjust what is not good in its translation. It does a good job, overall, but we’re talking literature here, so I have to reread it all and do various changes.

It also says in the privacy page (the link you sent me) that I can fill out the below form to request them to delete my data sooner than 30 days, which is the time they keep the content for, if I understood correctly:

Below it says they do not look at our documents. But I supposed they do because how would it translate it?

It is too bad that it doesn’t have an area where it talks specifically about this feature in Acrobat = TRANSLATION, so I can really be sure all these other rules they give above apply to translation.

I still don’t like that my content is uploaded to their Cloud, we never know what can happen exactly as there are so many loopholes.

I think I can remove the doc from the Cloud, after the translation is done. But I wonder if it removes completely from anywhere and everywhere. Basically my hesitation is that this content does not become available at all, even if only for AI.

    Thanks.

Your questions are above my pay grade…

You might consider copyrighting the book before any translation. At least you would have that protection.
