what happened to Adobe?

The new Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is TERRIBLE! It is so difficult to do some editing on a pdf file. 

I recall that a few years ago editing a pdf using adobe software was straightforward and smooth. Now when I click on Tools, it gives me a full "matrix" of choices. Is this cool and future-looking? Not to me! I wanted to add a text box, but I found no such option in "Edit PDF" box. I have gone through the matrix a bit, but no success. It is like more boxes in a box...you keep looking!

I lost track how many updates or upgrades I had. Now it is the "Cloud" version. Wow...! there are MULTIPLE adobe software to open a pdf file. Do I as a user need so many choices. NOOOOOO, it is CONFUSING. Learn from Microsoft please, if I want open a doc file, Word would be it, simple as that.  Adobe reader, adobe pro, adobe super pro......

Lacking of consistency in upgrades is a BIG problem of adobe products. I can't follow what the online help says. And MOST of the help files online are for previous versions, not current. What a MESS!
