What is the Best Way to Resize, Crop, and Move Images in Acrobat Pro 2026?

Hello everyone, 

I’m working in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2026 Enterprise Edition and I’m struggling with basic image manipulation in the new interface. After inserting an image, I need to resize, crop, and reposition it, but the tools seem very limited.

Here are the issues I’m running into:

  • Resizing: The corner handles are difficult to use because the Quick Actions popup keeps appearing, and nearby text boxes interfere with the selection.

  • Cropping: The popup also makes cropping difficult, and the crop handles are hard to grab.

  • Adjust Objects panel: Sometimes the “Adjust Objects” section doesn’t appear at all when I select the image.

  • Quick Actions: I know I can disable “Show Quick Actions on text selection,” but I rely on that feature for text editing, so I prefer not to turn it off.

  • Layering: Bringing the image to the front doesn’t always solve the problem when trying to move, resize & crop the image.

Is there a recommended workflow in Acrobat Pro 2026 for handling images? Specifically:

  • Is there any way to resize an image without using the corner handles?

  • Is there a more reliable way to crop an image?

  • What’s the best way to resize, crop and move an image without the popup and other text boxes interfering?

I work with images constantly in Microsoft Word and never have this much difficulty, so I’m hoping there’s a better method or tool I’m missing in Acrobat’s new interface.

    A couple of details would help before pointing you to the right fix:

    • Are you on Windows or Mac, and what exact Acrobat Pro 2026 version/build are you on (Help > About Adobe Acrobat)?

    • Does the "Adjust Objects" section fail to appear on a specific image or file, or does it happen across different PDFs?

    Here is what Adobe's own documentation covers for this workflow:

    Adobe's current guide, Modify images in PDFs using Acrobat, describes the intended flow: select Edit from the global bar, select the image, then use the tools listed under Adjust Objects in the left pane (Flip, Rotate, Crop image, Replace image, Align objects, Arrange objects). Per that article, changes apply once you select outside the image.

    For crop and resize specifically, Adobe has a separate path that avoids the inline handles and pop-up entirely: Edit images in PDFs with Adobe Express in Acrobat. With the image selected, choosing Edit image from the left pane opens it in the Adobe Express editor in its own window, separate from the inline Quick Actions pop-up.

    On the Quick Actions conflict itself, Adobe's article on this is Customize Quick action toolbar in Acrobat. It covers adding, removing, and reordering tools in the toolbar, which may let you adjust how or when Quick Actions appear without turning the feature off entirely. 

    If that keeps happening on a plain image with no nearby text, please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity and further investigation.

    Hi Amal,

    Thanks for the detailed follow‑up. I really appreciate it. I’m using Windows 11, running Acrobat Pro version 2026.001.21789, and the issue with the Adjust Objects tools not appearing has happened across multiple different PDFs rather than a single file. I’ll review the documentation you shared and try working with a few other files, and if the issue continues I’ll let you know.
