Then don't give that permission to Acrobat! On the other hand, don't expect to be able to use any of the share, review, or sign features of Acrobat that work in concert with your e-mail client which appears to be Google gmail.

Apparently, Google gmail doesn't differentiate between read, compose, send, and permanently delete email permissions. The only things that Acrobat will use such permissions for is compose and send if you use the features mentioned above. Likewise, in terms of contacts, the only thing that Acrobat would do with your contacts is to read them in conjunction with these same functions.

There isn't anything sinister here. What is unfortunate is that Google doesn't differentiate between and provide much finer granualarity in terms of specific operations' permissions.

Dov, thanks for the clarification, but the dialogue box posted by the OP still reads: Adobe Acrobat wants to delete your email and delete your contacts. If that's not the case, then please have the Adobe legal team report this to the FTC and directly to Google..

    1. The message is not generated or controlled by Adobe. It is generated by Apple or Google in response to certain actions of the app or the user. 2. It does not say it WANTS to delete anything. Apple have identified that giving this permission (for example the password for an email account) would ALLOW those things.

Wow. That's really some chutzpah! (Definition at https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/chutzpah)

    Haven't seen it before.

What were you trying to do when you got this message?

Read my other response. Nothing sinister here and certainly not chutzpah on the part of Adobe. I won't get into what Google itself does or doesn't do with your information with or without your permission.
