OS 10.14.6

 

I noticed my 'system' storage on my HD was approaching 432GB did some digging and found this file in

my home folder > library > logs

 

acroNGLLog.txt

what is this log file?   

it is 377GB!

this text file starts with references to acrobat login registration type details then

it has the below one line of text  repeated thousands of times (on various dates and different times):

"02-05-22 06:30:59 shouldFakeLoggedOffState calling RegisterLoginAsyncDelayedProc"

(screenshot attached of some of it)

Is this safe to delete? its huge and am sure its clogging up my system storage

What I meant to say was I had a similar  issue with a large .pdf log file and deleted it.

This file is a logging artifact generated by Adobe Acrobat, specifically related to licensing and login state management.  It’s created by Acrobat (or Reader) to record licensing-related events—such as login attempts, entitlement checks, or profile validations. The log is stored in your user logs directory (~/Library/Logs/).

 

Yes, it is safe to delete this file. It is not essential for Acrobat’s core functionality and is only used for diagnostic purposes.

 

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20630, Planned update, Aug 18, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app, and the machine. The latest version prevents increasing the file size.

I have exactly the same issue.  Did you resolve it?  Did you delete it?!

Hi yes I deleted it and had no issues after that. did a restart and checked my storage and it went back down to normal.
I think it was created during an indesign crash and it kept re generating in the background getting bigger and bigger! 

If I remember correctly it happened one more time and I deleted a similar huge pdf and have never had the same issue since. hope this helps...
