Hi friends,

Sorry if this is dumb question! I want to convert a big word doc into a PDF so that someone can click on an item in the contents (on the first page) and jump to the story, and then jump back to contents by clicking Back to Top etc...

Be grateful for any help, please!

Thanks in advance and very bestest,

Guy

Hi,

Please try to download the below plugin which is helpful for you to create Bookmarks and TOC links. This is a third-party plug-in and needs Acrobat professional.

Thanks,

If you create the links in Word and use the PDFMaker plugin (via the Acrobat ribbon) to convert the file to a PDF they should be carried over and continue to work in the new file.

For online documents, you really don't need a TOC--you can use bookmarks--but you can have both if you want. I like to set the bookmark panel to open automatically so readers know they are there (under the Document properties).

If you use the default Heading 1-9 styles, they will create bookmarks automatically using the Acrobat PDF Maker or by simply doing a Save As to PDF  (Acrobat not required for the Save As). You can format the styles as you need--it will not affect the bookmarks.
