When combining files, combining tool reverses document order

If I open multiple PDF documents in the order I would like to combine them in, and then choose combine files, the tool combines the files in reverse order.

I know an obvious solution to this is open them in reverse order before combining, but wondering if there is a permanent solution for this?

The only way I know how to fix this problem in Adobe Acrobat:

1. Click Tools and select combine files

2. Select the files

3. change view from Thumbnail view to List view ( in the middle four squares like windows logo to hamburger icon)

4. then sort by name or date

5. go back to thumbnail view to review it.

You can now choose to sort by "reverse order". Tweaking Kurt5C98's response to reflect this would look like this:

1. Open multiple PDF documents in the order I would like to combine them in

2. Click Tools and select combine files

3. If you're in Thumbnail view, change it to List view (click the bulleted list icon at the top)

4. Change view from Thumbnail view to List view ( in the middle four squares like windows logo to hamburger icon)

5. Do Control-A to select all the files

6. Right click your mouse over any of the highlighted area and choose Sort by Reverse Order.

7. go back to thumbnail view to review it.

This issue is just insane, why on earth would anyone think this is a good idea...having Acrobat automatically revesing the pages when combining many into a single file. This seems to me to be an example of why we should all be very worried...if this is an example of technological advances...then we are all in trouble. I have spent hours trying to sort this out, a problem introduced as a result of a recent upgrade...no wonder I always leave upgrades to as late as possible. OK rant over... I'm a MacOS user and have found that if I slect the multiple pages I want to combine...open them as one, in preview then try to print and instead of printing to the printer....select save to PDF and use the printer settings to "reverse page selection" and it saves the PDF in reverse...which is of-course in the correct order. Problem being I'll have to deselct that choice when printing large docs other wise I'd just get angry all over again!

Seriously...we are all in trouble!

Similar problem. I want to combine several imagefiles in a single multipage pdf, but Adobe Acrobat Pro DC ignores the sorting order given by the filenames and seems to require always a manual re-sorting (impossible)

I've got the same problem -- brand new installation, and it ignores to clear file order. Didn't appear to even give me any options. Anybody found a solution?
