I had a very similar issue a while ago. The first PDF would open without any problem, but when I tried to open another one, Acrobat would freeze and Windows would eventually ask me to close the program.

In my case, repairing the Acrobat installation fixed it. I also checked for updates and restarted the computer afterward. If the files are stored in a cloud-synced folder such as OneDrive or a network drive, try copying one of the PDFs to your desktop and opening it from there to see if the behavior changes.

Hopefully an Adobe specialist can take a closer look, but it would also help to know which version of Acrobat and Windows you are using.

    Hi @sergio-2023

Thank you for reaching out and we understand how frustrating this must be when the application stops responding every time you try to open a second file.

Remote access support is not available through the community. For that level of assistance please contact Adobe Support directly at adobe.com/support where a technician can assist you further.

In the meantime, to help us understand what is happening and get you to the right resolution as quickly as possible, could you please share the following:

    • Your operating system and version
    • Your current Acrobat version under Help > About Adobe Acrobat
    • Whether this happens with all PDF files or specific ones
    • Whether the files are stored locally on your computer or on a shared network drive
    • A screenshot of the exact error message if possible

Please share what you can and we will take it from there.

Also, @jesse_5311 - has provided all valid and appropriate suggestions, especially check for updates and if the files are located on Cloud drive.
