When Printing a PDF that was converted from MS Publisher, some lines are a different shade

Please help!

I have a major project due in a few days, it's almost done accept for one problem.

When I print the PDF file saved from a Publisher Doc some written lines are a different shade than the others, it looks random but when I try to reprint the same lines are greyed.  (The printer was recently service and cleaned)

In some cases the line spacing is uneven. 

 

I found a very complex work-around.

  1. Edit PDF mode, copy and paste the written content into MS Word.
  2. Adujst the text color to the desired tone.
  3. Copy the text from MS Word back into the PDF file.
  4. Adjust spacing as it loses that formatting when pasting to a PDF file. 
  5. Print, problem solved with far too much work and this is a recurring problem through out the year. 

 

Is there a simpler way to ensure that when I print from PDF with a converted MS Publisher document that all my lines appear with even tone? 

 

This document has to be perfect, its very large and will take too long to go though this process. Shoukld this not be easy and simple?

A few different aspects I would like to check when creating the PDF from MS Publisher:

1. Check Font Embedding in the PDF:

  • Problem: Some fonts or parts of a font might not be properly embedded when exporting to PDF from Publisher, which can result in inconsistent rendering or printing.
  • Solution: Make sure that fonts are fully embedded in the PDF when exporting from Publisher. Here’s how you can check and fix this:
    1. Go to File > Save As.
    2. Choose PDF in the “Save as type” dropdown.
    3. Click on the Options button.
    4. Under PDF Options, check the box for ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A). This ensures all fonts are fully embedded.

 

2. Ensure Consistent Text Rendering:

  • Problem: The different shades or uneven spacing could be caused by variations in how Publisher handles fonts during conversion to PDF.
  • Solution: Use a Print to PDF option instead of saving directly as a PDF in Publisher. This ensures better compatibility:
    1. In Publisher, go to File > Print.
    2. Choose Adobe PDF or any other virtual PDF printer.
    3. Print the document as a PDF and then try printing the file to your physical printer.

3. Fix Uneven Line Spacing:

  • Problem: MS Publisher sometimes mishandles line spacing in exported PDFs.
  • Solution: In Publisher, ensure that all text boxes have consistent line spacing settings:
    1. Select all the text in your document.
    2. Right-click and choose Paragraph.
    3. Ensure the line spacing is uniform throughout the document before converting to PDF.
    4. You can also set the paragraph spacing to "Exactly" rather than "Auto" to prevent discrepancies.
