When saving a document to Word, Acrobat saves it as the previous document it converted!

I have a series of pdf documents that I converted from Illustrator to pdf. I am now trying to save them as a Word document, but Acrobat is saving them all as the first document I converted. I tried saving with different names, I tried saving to different locations, but they are all coming up as the first document. This is bizarre behavior! Any thoughts?

    Thank you for reaching out.

    This is undoubtedly an unusual behavior. We suspect that every time you convert a PDF file to Word, the new one is overwritten by the previous one. 

    Or, when you are viewing them, it's probably the first one that keeps opening. 

     

    To understand the root cause of the problem,

    • Please share a video of your exact workflow or converting the PDF file to Word.
    • Keep all the files locally on the desktop or better to create a folder for all the converted ones.
    • If you are doing the PDF to Word conversion from Windows File Explorer, then do not do that. Open PDF in Acrobat Pro>export pdf>word

     

    In addition, let us know the version of Acrobat and OS you are working with.

    Hello Akanchha,

    I am attaching a Quick Time video of my workflow. Is it possible there is some sort of protection built into the Illustrator file?

    My OS is Ventura 13.4.1 (c), and my Adobe products are the 2023 version, all updated.

    I tried signing out and signing back in to Adobe. I tried rebooting my computer. I also tried doing this with other ai files, and it does not happen. It seems to be only this batch from the one client.

    Thanks for sharing this with us; it's helpful. 

    The last file it generates as a Word file, its content is entirely different. Have you saved it before by exporting it to Word using the same method?

    Can you please give this file to us? We want to export this PDF at our end.
