When viewing pdf in adobe reader the right side of all pages is greyed out

I created a pdf from Word (Windows 11). When viewing the pdf the right side of all pages is greyed out. And the text is very small. This has NEVER happened before.

This is critical as I am ready to submit the pdf for a US copyright, have perused the fixes and cannot find a solution that works.

I am non technical.
