Question

When we open a PDF in Chrome vs. Adobe there is different data

We receive files from external parties.  Recently we found two issues, with a filer using PDF Expert v2.4.29.

First, we find some files are missing pages.  If i open the file in Chrome, all pages are there.  When I open the file in Acrobate Pro (2017.011.30127) some of the pages are missing.

In a second scenario from the same filer, Chrome will have the pages the sender intended to send us.  When opening Acrobat, it has completly different data.

Unfortunatly a downstream process uses adobe to process the files, and is therefore getting incomplete or inaccurte data.

Ideas???

    Hi Jmctiernan,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, you are experiencing issues when opening the file in Chrome vs Adobe Acrobat DC, correct?

Web browsers use their own PDF plugin to open and view the PDF that is not in sync to the Adobe Acrobat DC.

Also as mentioned above, you are using the version (2017.011.30127), its an old version the last update for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 was made on Aug 22 2019. Please try updating the application to the new version and see if that brings any difference. To know more about the latest update available please use the link - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Let us know if that works for you

    Regards

    Amal
