Where did the Date field go in Prepare Form?

I have Acrobat DC and up until a little while ago, I had an icon under Prepare Forms that was a date field. It's gone? Was it taken away or did I delete it and/or overlook it.

When I send a signable pdf through Echo Sign, that date field would prepopulate when a customer signed a proposal. I am looking to get that feature back and am puzzled as to what happened.

Thank you!

There are two different modes when you're in form editing mode. One is for creating a normal Acroform and one is for creating a form that's intended to be used with the Adobe Sign service. Depending on which of these modes you're in, there will be different types of fields available. To go int the Adobe Sign mode, in the right hand panel, select: More > Convert to Adobe Sign form

or something like that. You should then see the date field type in the toolbar on the top.

Thanks George, that was the answer! I learned something new. How I got there in the first place to make the original documents, I don't know. Unless there was possible a feature change that came with the latest update. Now I learned something new. Appreciate everyone's help. Thank you!

People normally and accidentally get in to that mode when they select the "This form requires signatures" check box when they first prepare a form with: Tools > Prepare Form

What this should say instead is something like "This form will be used with the Adobe Sign service" so that it is a bit more clear what the implications of selecting the check box are. Currently, someone who wants to use digital signatures or the Fill & Sign feature might select this thinking that it will give them what they want, or they might not have any idea what it means and select it anyway, and find they can't create a normal form.

Hi jp22072454,

Try launching Acrobat>Tools>Prepare Form>select the Field>Right Click Properties>Format tab>Select format category>Date

Let me know the results.

Thank You,
