I'm not sure if I have the most current version.  Where can I find out what the most current update/version is (preferably on Adobe's website).

Ok, this can be complicated. Some tips to navigate the information.

1. Permanent license is also called "classic". Version numbers look like 20xx.xxx.3xxxxx. By contrast, subscription license is called "continuous" and version numbers look like 20xx.xxx.2xxxx. So that "3" or "2" makes all the difference.

2. The classic version gets a big lump of new features every few years, and then only bug fixes; then when the next big lump of new features comes you can buy an upgrade. The first classic version was 2015. Recently 2017 was released. There is upgrade pricing but it's well hidden.

3. The continuous version gets new updates all the time - a mixed blessing you might say. This too had a 2017 version and now a 2018 version.

4.Help > Check for Updates  will usually bring you up to date with free updates.

4. See this page for more info Install Acrobat and Reader updates . Classic versions for 2015 have probably had their final update, 2015.006.30392

This is not as simple as it seems because there is different software and versions according to how you pay. Please answer these three questions:

1. Mac or Windows?

2. Subscription or permanent licence?

3. If it is a permanent license, is your CURRENT version 2015.something or 2017.something?
