Why can't I change the security method in acrobat reader dc

Hello,

Every time I open a pdf with my Adobe Acrobat Reader and attempt to change the security settings so that I can make a document "unprintable," the security method simply reads as "no security." There's not even a drop down box. I've reinstalled it and switched from the plain adobe reader but nothing has worked.

I'm working with Windows 10.

Thank you in advance.

That definitely falls under the category of "editing", and yes, it can only be done using the paid-for version.

Reader can't edit PDF files. You need to have the paid-for Adobe Acrobat to

be able to do it.

Hello. Thanks for your reply. I'm not trying to edit it. I'm trying to change the security setting. Is that limited to the paid version, as well? My main goal is to make the pdf so that it can't be printed.
