Just auto updated to the new version of Acrobat PRO on my iMAC and suddenly I cannot modify text from a pdf file. I really don't understand that unreasonable need to constantly update things that worked!

Hi @Vicente23741147yk0y

I hope you are doing well.

Are you encountering any error messages while changing the text in a PDF file? I recommend restarting both the application and your computer and then checking again.

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change. However, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you will be able to be more productive & get more out of Acrobat.

A point to note is that as we made these changes in the interface, we have tried to ensure all tools & features currently supported retain their familiar functionalities and workflows as they did in the previous version

Rest assured, we are actively working on any missing feature, functionality or ability to customize or move the Quick Toolbar or the All Tools section. We will address them with the highest priority in future releases.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you continue to experience any issues or if you have any further questions related to the new Acrobat. We are here to assist you.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

I understand that it's your job to say these things;

I think you should let your boss know that attempts to remain baseline productive in your products is drastically negatively impacted by literally every single change that's been made, bar none, for years now.

At this time Adobe is in the business of wrecking their old products and alienating the people who have little choice but to struggle through them. Advertising pop-ups from the tool menu, gating standard functions behind a drearily expensive subscription model that prevents productivity enhancements, and continuing to find ways to remove functionality are not something anyone wants to get familiar with.

Until the people that made these decisions are publicly fired and apologies are made, these attempts at PR only increase dissatisfaction. It's clear that your executive officers have zero contact with or understanding of their customers. It's hard to ignore the sense that they're hostile toward us.

Their maneuver to put you out front to take the damage of their decisions is something you, personally, could think about. The most popular search query related to Adobe is still "alternatives to adobe". It might not be a good outfit to stay hooked up to in the long run.
