Why do I get white blocks before my background

When I generate a PDF from a Word document and in Acorbat I put a backgroud to it. I have white blocks showing up.... Why?

You see the white fields only exist at point where I have changed the text in a standard document I use...

You may have Borders & Shading set to white in Word, the white areas would only show up when you add a background to the PDF. If this is the case, in Word, go to Format> Borders & Shading and change the fill to No Color. I assume you are using Acrobat or Reader to view the PDF and the view overprint preference is set to Always.

I can't change this to No Color, only automatic... please view attached

document... Any other suggestions?

I don't see your attachment, you will need to take a screen shot and use the image icon to attach it (7th from the left).

How are you generating the file from Word? What command are you using?

Also, what version of Acrobat do you have?

I use Word for Mac 16.14.1 and tried all kind of thing to generate a PDF

from word, through the print menu, and through the acrobat tab in Word...

It all gives the same result. I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Continuous release
