Question

Why do I no longer have the 'simplify page' option when printing a PDF?

Hi There,

This is my first time ever posting on the Adobe forums, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

It used to be that when I went to print a PDF, I had the option to 'simplify' the page - I don't know all the technicalities of it, but as any of you who have used this option are aware, choosing it would clear up a lot of unnecessary clutter and make for a 'cleaner' printout.

I no longer have the option to do this. The last time I went to print from PDF was three days ago (Feb. 5, 2017) and up until that date at least, I still had the option to simplify the page - but not anymore.

I use the Avast Safezone browser, but I also have Chrome installed, and the same thing happens when I try to print a PDF from that browser - no option to simplify.

If anyone could help me out, it would be appreciated!

I've never heard of such an option in Acrobat Acrobat or Reader. You were either using a different application, or you had some kind of plugin installed that added this functionality.

Maybe this option - which was an experimental option for printing web pages from Chrome, NOT PDF. Chrome gets Simplify Page printing option - gHacks Tech News

Have you seen this in the print dialog of Adobe Acrobat?
