Why does Acrobat not allow simple changes in viewing preference?

This seems like a very simple feature that Acrobat is missing. On other PDF viewers -- for example, the standard document viewer on Archive.org -- you are able to customize your viewing preferences, such as changing the brightness and contrast or adding a black-and-white filter. I find that extremely helpful for PDFs that are not well-scanned, because I can tweak my view to make it the most readable. Since Acrobat does not allow for such customization, I’m stuck reading the PDF as it was originally scanned. Why does Adobe neglect these simple accessibility tools? Acrobat is supposed to be the industry-leading PDF viewer!

I cannot say why Acrobat doesn’t have these features, but this is probably not the best place to voice your concerns and request new features/capabilities of Acrobat.

I’d suggest you check out this link and submit new feature request(s) directly to the Acrobat product team. I can assure you that Acrobat developers do look at these new feature requests, and have periodically acted upon them to improve Acrobat over the nearly 35 years that it’s been in existence.
