Why is my Adobe Acrobat Pro XI displaying in Spanish..how to revert?

Seems that about six months ago, when I had to reinstall my Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on my desktop due to faulty hard drive replacement - it now boots up in Spanish language.  I've tried all the online recommendations on changing the language to "English".  Which was done successfully, but it STILL is showing up in Spanish.  Furthermore, it's expecting me to register again - as the DC cloud version - and when I use my adobe serial number from my account for the product - it's giving me an INVALID serial number response.

Help.....it's a great product....love it as is...and I can't use it now.  Please advise on how to address both issues.

I did not buy any subscription programs that I am aware of and at 1 point I may have done a trial cloud CC however I never ended up buying anything not sure how that would affect a fully licensed destop version

if nothing cc is currently installed you can skip the first two steps and start at the third, but make sure:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

after securing your serial number, uninstall your acrobat xi

if win os, clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

reinstall your acrobat

activate with your serial number
