Question

Why is the print different than the lay-out?

Hi all,

We us PDF files at work, we make an order in Exact and make it a PDF. When I look at the lay-out in Exact it is all ok. When I print the whole lay-out is almost 1 cm to the right. So... I don't have all things on paper.
What can I do to change this? It is on all computers, not only on mine!

Thanks!

Hi @daisy_9456

Thanks for reaching out.

How to Fix Layout Shift When Printing PDFs

1. Check Acrobat Print Settings

  • Open the PDF in Acrobat.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • Under Page Sizing & Handling, select Actual Size (not Fit or Shrink).
  • Ensure Auto Rotate and Centre are enabled.
  • Do not tick “Choose paper source by PDF page size” unless required.

2. Verify Printer Properties

  • Click Printer Properties in the Print dialogue.
  • Confirm the correct paper size (e.g., A4).
  • Disable any “Borderless” or “Auto-centre” options that might shift content.

3. Use ‘Print as Image’ (Optional)

  • In the Print dialogue, click Advanced.
  • Tick Print as Image to bypass driver interpretation.

4. Check Export Settings in Exact

  • Ensure the PDF is generated at the correct page size (A4 vs Letter).
  • If possible, disable any scaling options during export.

Let us know how it works.
