Question

Why the extortionate cancellation fee?

I subscribed to Adobe Acrobat for what I thought would be a month because I need it for a project I was working on. When I no longer needed it, I went to my account page to cancel my subscription and discovered that Adobe will charge me a $75 early cancellation fee for the privilege! WTF! This is highway robbery. Apart from that one instance, I rarely use Acrobat. I don't want it on my computer, nor the confusing and space-hogging Creative Cloud application. I should be able to cancel, no questions asked, as is the case with so many other product subscriptions from other vendors. It's not like Adobe's bottom line will suffer if I cancel.

I will NEVER use another Adobe product.

This fee is only charged when you sign up to a yearly contract and cancel it prematurely. It's to cover the difference between the discounted amount you paid monthly compared to what a monthly subscription usually costs. The number of times you used the application is irrelevant, as that's entirely up to you.

However, if you were subscribed for only one month you might be able to get it waived, but you'll need to contact Adobe Support directly for that:

Chat support: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
(type "Agent" to chat with a real person)
Phone support: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html
There's no email support.

Beware of people contacting you via the forums' messaging system pretending to work for Adobe! Only those with an "Adobe Employee" tag under their name are legit. Also, Adobe will never offer to contact you via Skype, or use an email account that's not under the adobe.com domain...
