Why the need to logon in Acrobat

Everytime I want to read a PDF document it Opens Acrobat Pro and I have to login. This is on my personal computer. Most of the time I will just use the functionality of Acrobat Reader and not of Acrobat Pro and I do not have the option to save my credentials. This is so annoying that I stopped using Acrobat as default application for opening PDF files.
