Why, when using the combine tool, the workspace turns grey and I cannot combine

Why does the workspace turn gray after adding open files?   It will not let me combine, I have to close it.

    Thank you for reaching out.


    It appears that you are using the older version of the application. Please try clicking the Add files option in the top bar. Check if you can add files and then combine them.

    I’m using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 :|     Still same issue when clicking Add files option

    Thank you for the information.

     

    Please let us know what happens when you click on Add files. Do you get any option to select file? Share the current version number of the Acrobat 2017 you are using. In Acrobat, go to help > About Adobe Acrobat. It would be helpful if you can share a short video showing what happens.

    Ensure that the application is updated to the latest version. Try repairing the application installation. In Acrobat, go to Help > Check for updates or Repair Installation.
