Why won't Acrobat Pro DC won't save in certain files?

Question

I have a unique glitch. I just updated my older Acrobat Pro to Acrobat Pro DC. Saving file in MS Word or Excel I can make minor change (page rotation) text edit and then use the save option with no problems. However, I also have PDF file that were generated by a printer/fax/scanner, then sent via email to me as an attachment. When I go to do anything with these files "Save" is not an option (its dimmed on toolbar and in menu). Even doing a simple page rotation can't be saved. So:

1) Why can I save changes/edits in some PDF files and not others?

2) What is unique about a scanned PDF file that won't let me save changes.

3) how do I fix this?

Hi DrJWo​There are two ways to rotate in Acrobat, and it can cause confusion.If you rotate your View of the pages with View > Rotate View or by Right-Clicking, it rotates the view of all of the pages. This can't be saved, and it will go back to its default view even if you make other changes and save, close, reopen.The other way is to rotate the pages. There are several ways to do this. One is the Pages panel. In Acrobat DC you can use Organize Pages. There may be a tool in your toolbar. Some versions have a menu command. But make sure your are rotating Pages, *not* the view. Then you can save.This dialog box is from the Page Thumbnails panel in Acrobat DC.Does this work for you?
