Why won't my Rich Media videos play?

Hey Acrobatters. In Acrobat Pro DC I use Rich Media to place .mov and .mp4 videos. They show up but go to black when I try to play them .... sometimes I hear the audio sometimes not. I've tried various videos in various formats. I'm generating the PDFs from documents in Illustrator and InDesign CS5. At at my wits end and unfortunately their phone support is not very good. BTW I am on an iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6. Anyone got any suggestions?

Not sure whose phone support you mean. Support for CS5 ended years ago. It isn't suitable for High Sierra.

Aha! Sorry I see the actual PDF app is Acrobat Pro DC. If the PDF files themselves are made with older software, compatibility should still be perfect. So... what app are you playing in? Is it also Acrobat Pro DC, or is it a web browser or other PDF app?
