Will let me print poster on Apple sharp printer but not on my HP printer

Previously, I could print poster size from my HP printer at home. However, now it does not give me the option, and the print as image is checked and grayed out so I couldn't uncheck it even if I wanted to. 

I switched printers to my school's Apple Sharp printer and the option to print as a poster is reestablished to print. While, yes I could print from the school if I had the print copies. I don't and I am not allowed to print in color. 

Any suggestions?
