Question

Word to PDF issue

I have a new iMac, (OS 10.12.2) using MS Word 15.6, and I have been running into an odd problem converting World files to PDF. There are two easy ways to do this. First I can "save as" and select PDF, but this option often switches fonts when making the PDF file, so that's not good. Second, I can use the "print" command, which has a PDF option, and when I select convert to Adobe PDF it converts the file perfectly. However, when I have tried to email those PDF files, they get sent as TextEdit files rather than as PDF files. (NB That this doesn't happen with the files converted to PDF using the "save as" command...) So that option isn't especially good either. I feel like I must be missing something simple here, but I'm a total incompetent with any of the technical stuff, and thought I'd check this forum to see if anyone has an idea about how to either preserve the fonts in the "save as" option, or to avoid the weird TextEdit issue with emailing files created with the Word print option. Thanks for any help.

Just to make sure, Word and Mac print can provide those services without Acrobat being installed.

What version of Acrobat Professional do you have installed?

I have Acrobat Pro 9 installed.

As I noted, when I use the Word 'save as' option to create a PDF, it doesn't preserve the fonts properly (maybe just an issue of the fonts I'm using), so I started using the Word 'print' command to get the PDF option there.

If you have Windows 10 then Acrobat9 os not compaible with any version of Word used by Windows 10.
