Hi Delete Adobe,

There aren't any Adobe apps that you can launch and simply start typing without activating the Type function first that I know of. You can do this in word processors, Microsoft Word being a prime example, but Adobe does not make word processors.

Since your question is not about how text works in Photoshop, I'll move it to The Lounge for you.

It's unclear what you want to type or for what purpose.

Any plain text editor will allow you to type words, or code:

NotePad, NotePad +, NoteTab, TextMate, Sublime Text, or this online editor https://www.onlinetexteditor.com/

For word processing capability, use Microsoft Word or Google Documents.

Hope that helps.

Maybe you need a new keyboard.

The way you enter text on Adobe applications varies with each application.

With Photoshop (for Mac or PC) there are two main methods; each method has advantages and disadvantages:

(1) You can click anywhere on the document with the Type tool and start typing.

(2) Click and drag with the Type tool to create a text box and start typing.

Have a look at the Character panel (Window > Character) to see the various options such as choice of font, size, alignment, colour and more.

More information, including a third method, Type on a path:

Photoshop has a type tool. Just learn how to use it. Your question is only about Photoshop, right? Because many Adobe apps allow you to work with type, just learn how to use them.
