Feeling let down

Does anyone else feel really let down by the Pantone/Adobe split?

The design industry is being squeezed from all angles; free design tools bult into software, stock sites offering templates, software subscriptions going up all the time, updates making hardware obsolete before natural end-of-life (awful for the environment by the way)...

I have a brand job I set up a while back and I just realised today that with the currently availible Pantone options, I would not have been able to colourmatch that job to the RGB and CMYK values. I would HAVE to buy a Pantone subscription.

Perhaps I'm just having a freelancer down day, but it feels like we're being squeezed out of existence.

I would, at least for the time, keep the latest version that still had the Pantone colour books. It looks as Pantone wants to monetize its name, as the printing business is simply disappearing.

    Hi,

for me its a bummer, but not really an issue. The basic Pantone Colorbooks are in and if a Client need further Ones they have to pay.

Elon Musk: “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay the $8.”
