Mac or PC?

Not sure if this is the right forum or not. I use CC products for all my work but my new Mac Mini is turning out to be a disaster. I've missed deadlines on projects because of mysterious crashes and hangs and programs that stop responding. I've used Macs all my life but I'm wondering if there is a decent PC alternative? I need to edit 4k videos and do desktop publishing with high res photos. Should I switch? What should I buy? I imagine the programs feel the same no matter what operating system, right?

One thing I'm very happy about is that my kids have gotten the wording right...

PC = personal computer, end of story!

They use apple operation system, but still call their lap-tops for PC's, which they are, their personal computers.

On my computers (machines that help me do my work), I use windows (though still on W7), which is my choise of PC (personal computer, that is).
