I am about to get tomatoes thrown at me, but I don't know what else to do. I began my career with FreeHand 8, then upgraded to 9 then MX.

After losing everything, I can not find a way to obtain a legal copy of FreeHand 9 or MX for my own, ome machine use. I truly need help, please.

I'd be careful about downloading from untrusted websites.  You don't know what you might be getting yourself into.

Inkscape is in active development.

https://inkscape.org/

Affinity Designer is allegedly able to open Freehand MX files.  I've never tried it.
