Production workflow expert as a career

Question

I get paid for film directing, editing and DI work.

I can give an appropriate answer when experts in one field ask about the work knowledge of another, but I don't think it's my area of expertise.

I want to make movies with people with an efficient workflow. Are there any job titles like DIT, also technical writer that can explain technology to everyone?

No, but there's no reason you can't invent that job title yourself.

In a nutshell movies and episodic TV ( film not video ) breaks down like this:

Executive Producer ( money )

Producer ( called below the line ). That office deals with pre-production, production ( including shooting, casting, locations, scheduling, hiring crew for shoot, etc. )

Post Production: This includes editing, distribution, advertising, etc.

Each of those areas have their own 'technical' challenges but it sounds to me you are focused on the post production part aside from the directing part you play ( director is hired by the producer below the line).

Find the area you wish to work in ( that you love the most ) and then work on networking with people who DO KNOW various aspects of that area. For example you may need to deal with CGI, green and blue screen stuff, various frame rates and all that stuff, and knowing who to ask for solutions for your " clients " will give you a leg up on doing this new job title you invented.
