I am in semester four in college and I have to build a portfolio, but I only have projects that I did in school and project I did for myself. What is the process in portfolio development for a beginner designer?

My interest is illustration, print and multimedia.

Any work you're proud of can be used in a portfolio.

If it was done in collaboration with others, you should give them appropriate credit as well.

Like this bear I did was for fun. I would use him as a illustration in a book, or on a t-shirt. So should I present him in a digital portfolio behance or adobe portfolio?

Sure!  He's cute, he's fuzzy.  What's not to like?

Even if you don't have a lot of finished projects, you can demonstrate your process with works in progress.
