    I  think of Photoshop as Adobe's keystone product.   

    When Macromedia still owned Dreamweaver, I could build sites dynamically with powerful server-behaviors.  Since Adobe acquired DW, those behaviors are gone and quite frankly, DW is a shell of its former self.   I still use it but it's not the only tool I use for web development.
