windows wipes my linux partitions!
Hey everyone,
This is not one of these evangelist OS type posts or anything like that, this is being genuine. Disclaimer: I am mostly a Linux user, and been so since my teens (In my late 30s now). It's also my bread and butter as a programmer. It's what I'm used to, I'm good at using it, and in my specific line of work its just what I do. Nothing against Windows or OSX or anything like that, and since 2016 due to Oculus, I've always dual booted so I have windows for my VR stuff and Linux (Ubuntu) for my day to day stuff/work stuff.
I bought Adobe Cloud about a year ago wanting to mess around with After Effects, Photoshop, and a few other tools. Noticed they have a lot of AR and 3D stuff, and character animation that tickles all my hobby spots so decided I'll use that on my windows partition to get creative.
In the last while I've rarely booted up windows due to the latest Oculus device being standalone, but did so to install windows versions of photoshop, after effects, and other stuff available to me on my creative cloud account. WIndows ran an update (as expected when being idle that long) and decided to wipe my linux partition and install some sort of windows recovery partition/backup in its place without telling me or even indicating it was going to do such a thing.
Again not an idealogue, don't care what peoeple use and more than happy to use windows to use my adobe products. Just thinking there has to be other people with a similiar setup. How do I stop this from happening again? I've recreated what I've lost but terrified to boot up windows 10 to mess about with creative suite in case it goes all terminator again and ballses up my other enviroments. I know this has absolutely nothing to do with adobe or adobe products but surely someone reading has experienced the same problem?
What do I do?
