Hi, I have a topic that I have linked to open in a New Window when I create a hyperlink. That opens it in my default browser, which is IE. First, if a user's default browser is not IE, will the topic still open in IE? Second, how can I customize the browser, so that the toolbars/address bar do not appear. I thought I had seen this post somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks Jane P.S. I successfully created a secondary window that opened, and I was so thrilled to finally succeed at it. See... http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=449&threadid=1145712 However, as I work in my project and recompile, the parameter for the secondary window gets stripped out of the CLASSID section. If I could solve this problem, then I would prefer this method. If you know the answer to this situation, that would be great!

I have a webpage up with this function: <script language=javascript> function UI3_DoFSCommand( command, args ) { if(command == "window") { alert(args); window.open( args , "_blank", "menubar=0,resizable=0,width=800,height=800" ); } } </script> My question is, on the declaration am I doing it incorrectly? It says in the Flash help that "where moviename is the name of Flash Player as assigned by the NAME attribute of the EMBED tag or the ID attribute of the OBJECT tag". Here are my html declarations: <object classid="clsid: D27CDB6E-AE6D-..." codebase=" http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="800" height="650" align="middle" id="UI3"> <embed src="UI3.swf" quality=high pluginspage=" http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800" height="650" align="absmiddle" id="UI3"> From my JS function from above, I defined i

I am attempting to allow a user to save the contents of a table created with a cfquery into an Excel spreadsheet. Using <cfcontent> I am able to create the spreadsheet fine, but the formatting is not right. Some of it is and some of it is not. The bold on the header line doesn't happen, which I can live with, but the landscape orientation does not and that is a bigger problem. I view it fine in Excel 2003 but when I print preview or print it is portrait. I have converted this code from ASP. It has the XML inside, so I kept it.. We are still on CF5. Not sure if there's a way to resolve this issue. Thanks for any help on this. Jeff <cfsetting enablecfoutputonly="Yes"> <cfset filename = "Facets_Fix_Report_#fileDate#.xls"> <cfcontent type="application/vnd.ms-excel"> <cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment; filename=#trim(filename)#"> <cfoutput> <HTML xmlns:x="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:excel"> <HEAD> <style&gt

I'm getting large XML results through CFHTTP and they are getting truncated. Is there any way to remedy this?

This is a PHP function that shows me how many users are in my chatroom, but I don't know how to do this in Cold Fusion. I need to in order to see who's in my chat room. Any ideas on how I'd do this? Here's the working PHP code <? $port = 10010; function getServerAPI( $apiCommand ) { global $port; $result = ""; $fp = fsockopen("localhost", $port, &$errno, &$errstr, 2); if(!$fp) { echo "$errstr ($errno)\n"; } else { fputs($fp,"GET /?".$apiCommand." HTTP/1.0\n\n"); $header = true; while(!feof($fp)) { $line = fgets($fp,128); if ( $header == false ) $result .= $line; if ( trim($line) == "" ) $header = false; } fclose($fp); } return $result; } $userCount = getServerAPI( "api.UserCount" ); $roomList = getServerAPI( "api.RoomList" ); $PeopleInRoom = getServerAPI("api.PeopleInRoom=The%20Lobby" ); echo "<b>Users Online Now:</b> ".$PeopleInRoom."<br><br>"; ?>

I'm working with flash remoting and I'm having a bit of trouble. If I pass a param to my coldfusion document as a number and it's a defined number in the database the query works great. I can't get it to work properly if I'm checking for matching text not numbers. Can anyone help me with what I'm doing wrong? Here's my CF document code:

Hello, I need help on a main page. I have this page called themainpage.cfm which someone here asked me to make it the main page of my cf pages. I have 2 pages right now in testing server. Bloicpage.cfm And Index.cfm When you go to Server.myappfolders/repfolder It let you go to Server.myappfolders/rep/folder/ Bloicpage.cfm Page. I need for the themainpage.cfm to be the default when typing Server.myappfolders/repfolder Then have a link to the Bloicpage.cfm and a back button to go back to the mainpage.cfm Many thanks

I would like to create on my page a search result that will show ten results then, allow the user to search an additional ten and so on. Also, show "next ten results" and "previous results" as navigation buttons on the bottom of page. Thanks.

I'm using Check In/Check Out with a collaborative group on a huge project. If I understand correctly, we should NOT use Put/Get functions if we want to not write-over each others' stuff. Also, <F12> is the Put function as well as the way to view files you are updating. Thus, I need help to know the best method how to view files that are being edited on the local and running with both a global css and with server-side includes in the page. Do I need to Check In each page to the server before I can fully view it in the browser? Also, does each member of the team need to have a copy of the css on their local?

I just found this command a month ago, but now I lost it again. I want to see the file's URL in actionscript (i.e. file:///c:/blah.swf). I think the command is something like _global.url, but that isn't it. Any clues?

Does anyone have example code for a stacked bar chart using cfchart under MX7? I've googled and searched, to no avail. Thanks!

this might be a bit off-topic for this forum, in which case please give me some clues where better to ask ... In our latest docs I'm having to shrink many screenshots. What methodology will give the best results? I'm capturing the screenshots using Alt+PrtScn then pasting into MS Paint. I'm saving the image unchanged as a BMP, which I import into RH-HTML X5 and resize there by dragging the corners. Is there a better approach which will preserve definition more? thanks

I am trying to utilize the <cfschedule> tag to send an email reminder to my users. I've copied the code from my 4th edition coldfusion manual vebatim but nothing happens. The book makes it look simple, but does not go into any detail. My first page is the scheduler.cfm page. It reads like this: <cfschedule action="Update" task="send_email_1" operation="HTTPRequest" url="https://hrweb/epms/30d_email_1.cfm" startdate="04/21/06" starttime="08:00:00" enddate="04/25/06" interval="Daily"> </cfschedule> The page I wish to activate is the 30d_email_1.cfm page. When I open the 30d_email_1.cfm page in my browser and press reload, it sends the requested email. I don't control the server but I am told this feature is not being blocked. How does cfschedule run the task and what am I missing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am trying to reference a public variable that is defined in a class file, from inside a function of the same class file. This is only a problem when I try to reference it from inside an onLoad function for loading an external file. 'this' then references [object Object] when it should be _level0.instance1 for example. '_parent' is undefined. any help is appreciated. finty

I've read several past posts about this subject, but I'm not clear how to accomplish my goal. Here's what I want to do: Click a text link and open a topic in a new instance of the HTML Viewer. This new topic is not in an external .chm file. I do want to be able to have this feature work on the network, as well. I think this question is loaded based on past posts. I'm a novice when it comes to coding directly, so baby steps would be good for me. Thank you! Jane

Hello, I am creating a database in which to store my orders, I have designed my order number to be the a combination of the letters 'ORD' and a number. The number would be based on a variable that is initialized and incremented by 1 for each order recieved. My problem is that I can't seem to decide which variable is best for this. I had initially thought it would be an application variable, but I have read that these are good for variables that rarely change. I would appreciate suggestions on a good way to implementing an increasing variable that is independent of the user and will not be re-initialized any time the application is restarted. Thanks

Hello guys, I have the problem to access all methods of a DataGrid instance within my own class. System: Flash 8, AS2 I have two files: mp3Player.as mp3Player.fla The scene is simple: Library consists of the DataGrid component and one movie clip. In the movie clip is an instance of the DataGrid component with instance name playList. An instance of the movie clip is placed in the scene and the movie clip has been linked to the mp3Player class in the as file. The mp3Player class is very simple. It contains a DataGrid variable playList and a constructor to initialize the DataGrid playList in the scene. What the constructor can do is e.g. playList._visible=false or playList.setStyle(...). But as soon as i start with playList.addColumn or playList.addItem it does not work.. What am I doing wrong? schnizZzla

Hello all Got a simple problem, I run a main query: <CFQUERY name="getprice" datasource="adatabase"> SELECT RTRIM(plpart) AS plpart, MIN(plunitprice) AS plunitprice FROM pricelist GROUP BY plpart </CFQUERY> now in the table pricelist some parts are entered in lowercase i.e the results could look like below: Part____Price ABc, 10 DeF, 11 ghi, 12 JKL, 10 If I query the datasource direct there is no problem with the case being upper or lower, but when I query of query like below it only returns a result if the LIKE '#variable#' is the correct case, how do I get around this? <CFquery dbtype="query" name="qoq_price"> SELECT plunitprice From getprice WHERE plpart LIKE '#variable#' </CFquery> for example if variable was 'ABc' the QOQ returns the correct price of 10 but if variable was 'ABC' the QOQ does not return a result Trouble is my variables come from one table where they are all in Upper case but in my price table people have entered them in both cases

Hi. I'm working on a pretty big product presentation in flash. The presentation is "doable" with like no AS at all, but the timeline(s) would be huge and a nightmare to work with, therefore I like to do as much as possible with AS. My problem is that my MC gives me 50-90% cpu-load on a 1,6Ghz P4 which results in like 1fps, in all other aspects everything works like intended. My big question is "Can I lower this load by doing everything (or parts of it) without AS? or is my code some where very bad written?" My suspicions goes to my _root.onEnterFrame=function(){} where everything happens (mostly thou function calls). Let me explain the movies structure: I have 3 subsections (the first containing 5 steps) that is repeated 5 times so the loop looks something like this ( on _root on the first (and only) frame: step = subSet=bigSet=0; onEnterFrame = function () { if( bigSet < 6 ) { if (subSet == 0) { if (isFirstStepInSubSet) { doFirstStepInSubSet(0); step++; } else if (isNotF

Can I set a script to gotoandplay a certain frame a number of time and than jump to a new keyframe? Ex: Keyframe 20: gotoAndPlay(1); I would like it to do this five times and on the sixth goto frame 21. Any ideas? -Ethan

Greetings, I'm curious to know what is 'normally' done to capture returns and other special characters from textareas. I want my user to be able to insert 'control' characters into the text area to allow them to provide some structure to the information they're entering. At the moment, I'm processing the text char by char and working out if it's an 'enter' or whatever, then appending a '<br />' to the string before I store it and so on. Is there a more established way to do this sort of thing?

I'm trying to use a dynamic list within a where clause, not having much luck and have tried many different ways. Here is the closest thing I can come up with, the only problem is that the output returns an error due to commas in the where criteria if the list contains more than one item. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Select is the name of my comma delimited list. <cfquery name="list" datasource="#dbnm#"> SELECT * FROM students where status = '#x#' and (id = #Listqualify(select,"")#) </cfquery>

I'm using this code to open email off the button, but nothing is coming up...do I need to put anything in the window & what should my variables be set at? thanks on(release) { getURL("mailto:test@email.com"); }

I've been using <CFSET CurrentURL = ' http://' & CGI.SERVER_NAME & CGI.SCRIPT_NAME> to output a URL, but this does not include the URL parameters (?objectid=1234453-24242 etc.) The parameters are not always the same (different variable names) so I would like to make sure that the parameters are output no matter what the variable names are. How can I output the parameters with the URL?
