Adobe Express on iOS: Important updates & device requirement changes

Hello, everyone!

We’re continuing to make improvements to Adobe Express to ensure the app remains secure, reliable, and optimized for the devices most of our community uses.

As part of these ongoing updates, we deprecate support for older mobile operating systems each year. This allows us to focus on performance, security, and quality across supported platforms. Unfortunately, over time, this also means that some devices can no longer run Adobe Express if their operating systems are no longer compatible.

What you need to know

  • iOS 16 was deprecated at the beginning of 2025

  • iOS 17 is being deprecated at the beginning of 2026

If your device cannot be updated beyond iOS 17, Adobe Express will no longer run on that device.

Ways to keep working

  • Use Adobe Express on another iOS device that supports iOS 18 (iPhones and iPads included).

  • Access your projects on desktop browsers using a supported computer.

Note: Your work remains safe and accessible when you sign in on a supported device.

We know change can bring questions, and we’re here to help. If you have questions, please reply to this thread. If you’d like to learn more about these updates, here are some important links:

Thanks for the update! It’s really helpful to know about the new iOS device requirements, especially for creators who depend on Adobe Express for quick edits and social content. Having clarity on compatibility saves a lot of time.

Alongside tools like Express, I’ve also been working on a small web-based project called bratgen.io. It’s a simple browser tool focused on generating bold, minimalist text visuals — mainly useful for social media covers and promo graphics. Sometimes combining lightweight generators with bigger design apps makes the workflow much smoother.

This situation is very frustrating. The iPad Pro I am using is from 2017. It is in excellent condition and fully meets my needs. I was also able to use Adobe Express without any problems.
Then, suddenly, Apple and Adobe, through their joint actions, are effectively attempting to compel me to discard a perfectly functional device and purchase a new iPad in order to continue using the application to which I am subscribed.
This is an unfair practice and also raises serious environmental concerns.

It is 100% important for Adobe to be able to communicate with customers. As an animation studio founder, and producer of film, I have now banned the use of all adobe products in our film making. Not because of the product but because of appalling billing cycles and common thievery. Trials become changes even after they are canceled. It is a huge expense to a company to use Adobe that has comms as bad as Facebook. We will use companies like NUKE and Unreal Engine that are able to communicate and troubleshoot with customers!!! For serious tools, what a letdown in terms of policy and process from Adobe. We’ve had to cancel bank cards and start again just because your system doesn’t stop billing canceled services.
