Adobe reader "unable to find suitable font for ISO-8859-8 encoding" error

I am looking for the solution to Adobe reader "unable to find suitable font for ISO-8859-8 encoding" error.  I have seen a link to the solution for this issue posted on this site (https://community.adobe.com/t5/Acrobat-Reader/ISO-8859-8-encoding-error-Message-when-opening-a-pdf-document/m-p/9609004#M36246).  However, when I click on the link it takes me to a generic adobe.com forum home page with no solution listed.  I have tried on Chrome and IE, but the same thing happens as the link to the solution is apparently broken. 

Please advise.
