Print option dialog box has disappeared

As you mentioned you are using Acrobat Pro version 9, sadly this version is not compatible with Mac OS 10.12.6. You may install and use it, Also this version is already declared as End of Support.

End of Support:  "End of Support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support or distribute runtimes. This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products)."

As the version was not tested/used after the Mac OS 10.5. You can also check the technical specifications  on Adobe Acrobat system requirements Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/system-requirements-acrobat-family-products.html

If the issue persists, please share the following details:

1. Is it Acrobat or Reader installed, check from Help>About Acrobat/Reader.
2. Dot version of Acrobat/Reader installed, check from Help>About Acrobat/Reader.
3. Is it happening with all the PDF file or with one PDF file?
4. Are you able to print from other applications?
