This worked for me.

1. Remove Acrobat Standard XI

2. Reinstalled XI

3. Downloaded the last version update  (11.0.23)

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotes/11/11.0.23.html#elevenzerozerotwentythree

4. Install version update - Without internet access.

Note: If installed with internet access the update rolls back.

I have had the same propblem at my office as well.  I have be doing the following:

Log into the computer as a user with admin rights then opening Acrobat and immediatly going to Help then Repair Installation and let that run.

Once finished open Acrobat and immediatly go to Help then Check for Updates and let that run.

If the update fails redo the steps to repair and then retry updating.

Once successfully updated Acrobat should run propperly again.

Hope this helps.

Please update the Acrobat application to the latest version 11.0.23.

Let us know if you still experience the issue.

If many machines crash at the same time, it is an external factor.
It may also occur when security software is updated.

In any case, continued use of discontinued Acrobat is at risk and is not recommended by anyone.

Crash on launch might be due to licensing failure. Try the steps mentioned in the KB: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/AcrobatXIcrash.html

I am also having issues with Acrobat DC Pro crashing on opening or saving an Indesign or photoshop file as a PDF. Has anyone resolved this issue. I am on macos Mojave Version 10.14.6. Should I do the upgrade of Catalina 10.15

Acrobat is compatible with macOS Catalina. For more information, see https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatibility-with-macos-10-15-catalina.html
