I want to know the word count in a PDF.

I have an Powerpoint file that I need a word count in.  There is, however, an issue because the word count that the file data shows does not include text that is in a table.  I have exported the file as a PDF and am wondering if Adobe Acrobat Pro DC can provide the word count.

You can probably get the word count of the PowerPoint directly using a 3rd party site like https://docwordcounter.com/PowerPoint-word-counter .

However, if you need to OCR the text, then you would need to run it through an OCR engine first (you could use Adobe for that.)

I went through the thread but have not been able to have any success.  Perhaps what I need is the ability to OCR the PDF?
