Mixing single and double page spreads with 2 page view, but not for double page spreads?

Question

I am making a comic book submission that must be a pdf. I have a mix of single pages that I want to show in 2 page view, and double page spreads that I want to display as one page so I need them to show in single page view.

I have been splitting my double page spreads, so the pages all line up in 2 page view. Then i crop the image in Adobe Acrobat so the image has not gap in the middle, but there is a line down the middle. I would also prefer to work on my double page spreads in PS as a single doc.

Can I have a PDF set where it goes between single and 2 page view when I want it to?

I see. So I can't do it in Adobe Acrobat.

I have InDesighn but have never used it. I will check it out. Thank you.

From InDesign, go to File> New> Document, select the page size and number of pages, and turn on Facing Pages.

Place your PDFs (or .psd) files into InDesign and export to a new PDF. You don't need to split your double pages, they can span across two pages in InDesign.

To make a spread PDF for viewing, turn on the Spreads button when exporting, (no bleed or crop marks), this will give you a single page for the FC & BC and spread pages for everything else (which is a good reader's PDF). There won't be a line between the pages, unless you add one in InDesign.

For the printer, export again as single pages with bleed and crop marks.
